01Scope

The machine, not merely its contents

Everything on the computer: the operating system, the installed applications, and the drivers, licenses, mail profiles, and printer settings nobody ever wrote down, together with the files themselves. Windows, Linux, and macOS endpoints are all in scope.

The distinction that matters is between recovering your data and recovering your machine. A rebuilt laptop with your documents copied onto it still costs a full day of somebody's time: reinstalling software, locating license keys, reconnecting accounts. Full Machine removes that day.

02Operation

How it runs

The agent performs a full system backup on your schedule to two destinations at once: an optional local vault on a NAS or external volume, and the encrypted cloud vault we operate. The local copy allows routine restores at local network speed; the cloud copy is what remains when the building itself is the problem.

Change tracking keeps every subsequent day small, because only altered blocks travel, so daily protection remains practical on a home broadband line or a hotel connection. Each endpoint carries 500 GB of pooled cloud storage, and the pool is fleet-wide: the design workstation with a heavy project folder draws on headroom the reception workstation never touches.

03 · Security architecture

The copy your compromised machine cannot delete

AES-256 at rest and in transit, with the cloud copy held in infrastructure that is not joined to your domain and not reachable with the credentials cached on the endpoint. Malware running as the logged-in user, or as SYSTEM, can destroy everything that machine can address. Its backup history is not on that list.

Backup integrity is verified continuously and failures raise an alert to our team rather than a red icon in a console nobody opens. Organizations are rarely undone by owning no backup at all. They are undone by a job that stopped working in March and was not examined again until November. Closing that gap is the part you are engaging a provider for.

04Recovery

Getting it back

  • Bare-metal recovery on Windows: boot recovery media on replacement hardware and restore the whole system, drivers reconciled, onto a machine that was never the original.
  • File-level restore: the everyday case. One deleted folder, returned in a minute, from the local vault where one is configured.
  • Both copies, one job: local for speed and cloud for disasters, with no second product to purchase and no second schedule to maintain.

Where this line stops

Bare-metal recovery is a Windows capability. Linux and macOS endpoints are fully backed up and restored at file and folder level rather than re-imaged. Server operating systems and their applications belong on Physical Server or Virtual Machine, which add application-aware handling for databases and mail stores.
